Template Management and Conversion Add-on for VeriFinger/FingerCell

Template Management and Conversion Add-on allows to integrate the support for fingerprint template standards to existing biometric system based on VeriFinger SDK or FingerCell EDK. Thus, the system will be able to perform template conversion from and to ISO/IEC 19794-2 (Fingerprint minutiae data), ANSI/INCITS 378-2004 (Finger Minutiae Format for Data Interchange) and ANSI/NIST-ITL 1-2000 (Data Format for the Interchange of Fingerprint, Facial, & Scar Mark & Tattoo (SMT) Information), as well as conversion between VeriFinger, FingerCell and MegaMatcher fingerprint template formats.

Template Management and Conversion Add-on supports both Windows and Linux operating systems.

The Add-on structure

The Template Management and Conversion Add-on includes these components:

  • Template Management Components. These components are intended to manipulate MegaMatcher templates extracted from images or converted from templates of supported standards. Conversion between VeriFinger, FingerCell and MegaMatcher templates is also supported.
  • Template Conversion Components. These components are intended for biometric data interchange between MegaMatcher templates or VeriFinger/FingerCell templates and standard templates. The supported standards are:
    • ANSI/INCITS 378-2004 (Finger Minutiae Format for Data Interchange);
    • ANSI/NIST-ITL 1-2000 (Data Format for the Interchange of Fingerprint, Facial, & Scar Mark & Tattoo (SMT) Information);
    • ISO/IEC 19794-2 (Fingerprint minutiae data).

These components can be used from C/C++ and C# applications.

NImages Pro (WSQ) Add-on for VeriFinger

NImages Pro (WSQ) Add-on allows to integrate image support into applications based on VeriFinger SDK. The following image formats are supported: WSQ (Wavelet Scalar Quantization), BMP (bitmap), TIFF (tagged image file format) and NIST IHead.

NImages Pro (WSQ) Add-on contains WSQ compression and decompression module, which can be used to minimize storage size of fingerprint images and for data interchange between systems based on MegaMatcher, VeriFinger technologies and other biometrical systems.

WSQ fingerprint image compression allows compressing image up to 10-15 times. WSQ compression process is "lossy", meaning that the reconstructed image is not equal to the original (some information is lost). However, the WSQ algorithm was specially designed to minimize the loss of fingerprint information therefore the reconstructed image is as close as possible to the original.

The Add-on structure

The NImages Pro (WSQ) Add-on includes:

  • WSQ, BMP, TIFF, IHead support modules
  • Documentation

These modules can be used from C/C++ and C# applications.
